What We Collect
Your Account When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and login credentials. Platform Use We collect standard usage data - things like your IP address, device and browser type, timestamps, and which features you interact with. This helps us keep the service running smoothly. Analytics (That's the Point) When someone accesses one of your links, we record the event - listening behaviour, downloads, engagement, and metadata like timestamps. This is the core of what It's Out Now does. Your Uploads Audio files, artwork, and metadata that you upload to the platform. Fan Data You Collect If you use our tools to capture fan emails or track engagement, that data is stored on your behalf.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is being used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well without them.
How We Use It

Legal Basis (GDPR)
If you're based in the EU or UK, we process your data under these lawful bases: Contract - to deliver the service you've signed up for Legitimate interests - to keep the platform secure and improve it over time Consent - when you connect integrations or collect fan data through our tools
Your Responsibility as a User
If you use It's Out Now to collect data from fans, media contacts, or industry professionals, you're the data controller for that information. That means it's your responsibility to have a lawful basis for collection, provide your own privacy notice to those individuals, and comply with any applicable privacy laws. We process that data on your behalf as a data processor.
Google and Third-Party Connections
If you connect a Google account, we access basic profile information - your name and email - to authenticate you and enable connected features. We don't sell this data or use it for advertising. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Who We Share Data With
We share data only with the infrastructure and service providers we need to run the platform - things like hosting, storage, and analytics. All providers are selected carefully. We don't share personal data for advertising purposes.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as long as we need to in order to provide the service. Some data may be retained longer if required by law. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time - see the 'Your Rights' section below.
Children and Minimum Age
It's Out Now is intended for users who are 16 years of age or older. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it promptly.
Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and secure storage to protect your data. That said, no system is completely immune to risk - we work hard to stay on top of security, but we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights

GDPR (if applicable) You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to how we process your data, as well as the right to data portability. Fan Data Rights If you're a fan or contact whose data was collected through a link created by one of our users, please reach out to the artist or label directly - they control that data. Your data may be processed outside of New Zealand by our service providers. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect it.
